The most recent works of Jim Hodges are being exhibited at Gladstone Gallery, in Brussels.
The artist’s mirrored glass paintings, colored and black diptychs, establish a dialogue with each other through their uncommon placements in the gallery space. The work of Jim Hodges presents the ambiguity of the mirror’s reflection and the possibility of constructing new narratives subject to the passage of time and to changes of light and movement. The pieces are in dialogue with the space and the spectators, in color, light and shadow. They are a new exploration on the concept of painting – the narrative and the characters of the painting are themselves the reflection of the space and persons in contact with the artworks.
This exhibition can be visited until the 18th of December, 2015.
